The summer has just arrived, and we have left behind exams, ceremony degree and the last months of hard work, ready to emerge in the sun of the warm countries like Spain. It will be a summer of travels, relaxation, meetings and reorganization of our plans and why not we will end up sitting down with our friends and enjoy pleasant lunches accompanied by delicious desserts and a liqueur wine like the Mistela!

It was born thousand years ago in the Mediterranean area. The name come from the Italian word "Misto" in latín "mixtus". In Spain, it spreads especially in the areas of Valencia, Mancha, Terragona and Granada. Surely the most interesting thing is that Mistela is not a Wine, it is an alcoholic beverage that is made with concentrated wine must and addiction of authorized wine alcohol (minimum graduation of 14 degrees). The number of ingredients can be varied according to taste or according to the area: basically are high-grade liquor (aguardiente, generally) grape juice must, mixed with different types of sweeteners like white sugar, brown sugar, honey and natural aromas like lemon and orange or clove, cinnamon. It is normally served at a temperature between 6 and 8°C.
So, if you go to spend your summer in Valencia don't forget to ask for la “misteleta” (La mistela de Turís o Teulada) in order to enter deeply with the spanish lifestyle and if you continue your trip to Andalucia buy a bottle of Mistela de Arriate for your best friend!!
